Uchiwa fan workshop

Fans have been an important part of Japanese clothing from very early on. Flat uchiwa fans were known as early as the 12th century. Later, the surfaces of fans were decorated with works by famous woodblock printmakers. Flowers and birds were particularly popular subjects.

The workshop lasts approximately 40 minutes.

This workshop is suitable for the whole family; children should be age seven or above, or accompanied by their parent or guardian. The workshop instructor is Irene Wai Lwin Moe.
