“Himmeli” is a traditional mobile decoration and comes originally from Middle Europe. The tradition to make them for Christmas came to Finland through Sweden. Decorations were made of straw and hanged from the ceilings. In our workshop you can use ecological straw or make a modern version of your own by using other materials too. How about making it of cinnamon bars?
Come along and start your Christmas in our museum!
After the morning in the workshop you will have a great opportunity to check our exhibition Collectors on tour and see also the festive table settings in the House Museum, 2nd floor.
