Business, lace and porter − a drama tour with Paul Sinebrychoff

This humorous drama tour introduces participants to the nerve-wracking world of the brewing business and art collecting of the early 20th century. Luckily, Paul can find solace in his Dutch portraits with their lace collars, and cigars from Lübeck.

As prohibition threatens the entire brewing industry, Paul the Younger invites members of the Friends of Moderation to his home for a discussion.

Paul was an avid collector of art and a brewery manager, who also had social responsibility:
“No one in need has ever left our home empty-handed.”

The Sinebrychoffs were one of the Russian merchant families who arrived in the Grand Duchy of Finland after 1809. The residents of Helsinki had a huge thirst for beer, and running a brewery was a profitable business.
Where else would you put your extra money if not into collecting art?
